Frida’s Triumph

Click to play the song:

From Hemland’s shores we sailed to war,
Brave Islanders who fight for Njord,
When our King Knut died, we chose her
As our Queen.

To Verdant lands our ships set sail,
We suffered Anders’s betrayal,
But even so, Queen Frida
Fought to win.

To Marion, words of peace we sent,
She came to us with sword in hand.
Our cannons spoke, her knights we broke,
We prevailed.

Then Frida sailed to friendlier shores,
Words of peace she sent once more.
The Julians answered her in kind,
Without fail.

A wedding with a Julian prince,
We’re trusted friends forever since.
With our cannons and their legions,
This war we’ll win!

Disaster, then, our friends have seen,
Their gods were vanquished by Aljin,
Yet Lucius kept his promise and we
Marched to war.

To bring Aljin and Grok’s demise,
Together with our brave allies,
The War of the Seven we will win,
Fighting for Njord.

The orcs we fought, our men held strong,
Our cannons sang their deadly song.
With his best warriors gone, King Ghark called
The retreat.

The orcs ran into the empire’s heart,
We followed Frida, played our part.
Without our cannons, spears in hand,
Our foes we’d defeat.

A great battle fought, the orcs charged our line
While Frida rushed them from behind.
Our trap then closed around King Ghark
We’d put him down.

Queen Frida strode into the fray,
With her own hand, King Ghark she’d slay!
Through his guards we cut our way and
Had him on the ground.

But Ghark’s death would not stop the fight
And victory was far from sight
So, Frida, captain and great queen,
Another way she found.

She stopped the fight, took Ghark away,
We lived to fight another day,
Another champion gave his life
For King Ghark’s release.

Then, with the orc god finally slain
We marched upon the Julian plain
To the capital we traveled
For a time of peace.

We strode in triumph and in fame,
The Julians called out Frida’s name,
Hero of the empire, queen, and
Captain of the sea!

We sailed to war, we fight for Njord,
And one now stands above us all:
Frida, captain of the sea,
Leading us to victory.
